The Diploma In Applied Astrology
For the current schedule of classes, workshops and seminars offered in the advanced program please contact Astro*Synthesis.
This course examines the dynamics that occur within relationships and the issues that people in relationship experience on the journey towards intimacy. Synastry, the art of chart comparison, Composite and other important charts will be covered, along with skills required for working with couples seeking astrological counselling.
This course addresses the dilemma between predictive and psychological astrology. The technique of return charts will be introduced especially the solar return and its cycles. Studying the solar return horoscopes for a lifetime will be examined. We will examine astrological methods for delineating specific periods of time, which will review some material on transits and progressions as well as introduce new techniques. We will discuss the process of initiation, liminality and return occurring at important life cycle stages.
Using astrological and psychological theory we will explore the family life cycle from birth to death. Topics to be covered include the family of origin, working with a geneogram, family myths and patterns, early stages of childhood, adolescence, leaving home, marriage and the extended family, mid life, grand parenting, retirement and old age.
This group will explore the dreams of each individual with the added dimension of the astrological chart, its transits and progressions. The cycle of Chiron and other important cycles associated with powerful psychic images will be explored. The matching of these two potential symbolic reference points will be powerfully insightful.
This program will explore the essential skills in the counselling process and highlight areas unique for the astrological counsellor. Topics that covered will include the micro-skills of counselling, stress management, crisis intervention, working with children and adolescents, and loss and grief. Part of the course will also include the specific challenges of an astrological counselling session as well as how we may begin to create a referral network.
This group is for the beginning astrological practitioners to gain feedback, assurance, additional skills, as well as a place to explore their feelings about what comes up for them during their interactions with clients. This is a closed group with a maximum of 8 participants.
