Units in the Diploma in Applied Astrology program are grouped under the following:

Core programs
The Astrology of Family Systems
The imprint, experience and dynamics of the family of origin and the ancestors as revealed by the astrological horoscope

Cycles, Passages and Returns
An in-depth look at the dynamics of planetary cycles and returns, including solar returns, and their impact on personal experience and stages of the life

Astrological Dynamics and Relationships
The astrological art of synastry, chart comparison and compatibility

Counselling and Astrology
Developing skills and awareness about how to effectively communicate with a client about their horoscope

Supervision
Whether personally, or in a group, supervision focuses on using the horoscope in a professional setting and the accompanying issues and dynamics that arise in the process.


Elective programs
Dynamic Astrology
This includes specialised workshops and seminars in related fields of astrology such as elective, mundane, relocation as well as techniques for deepening the understanding the horoscope such as the asteroids, trans Neptunian objects, ancient techniques etc.

Astrology and Well Being
Specialised seminars and workshops that focus on physical, psychological and mental well being and healing

Astrology: History, Philosophy and Mythology
Astrology’s rich history, symbols, myths and philosophy will be the focus of this stream

Living Astrology
This will include the experience of astrology through group participation, dream work and personal exploration


Thesis Component
Thesis
This unit will be separate and concentrates on the writing of your theses on a topic of your choice that is particularly relevant and important for you. This will include supervision.

2010 DIPLOMA UNITS
Seminars scheduled for 2010 are from 10 am – 4:30 pm unless otherwise indicated. All workshops, groups and tutorials except for Demetra George and Verena Bachmann will be held
in our consulting room in the WellBeing wing of the Convent. Tutorials accompanying the advanced program are Wednesday evenings from 6 – 7.30 pm.

YOUR REQUIREMENTS

1. Prerequisites
The Certificate in Applied Astrology is the prerequisite to enter the Diploma program. If you have not yet completed the Certificate requirements but are working towards this you are still eligible to enter the Diploma program. In some cases other previous astrological accreditation will be accepted but this
is reviewed on application. The Diploma in Applied Astrology is currently being transferred to Distance Learning and therefore some units are now only available through our distance learning
program.

2. Total Hours
The total hours of class attendance, seminars and workshops must be a minimum of 150 hours as set down in the syllabus. A maximum of 25 hours may include other approved workshops or seminars. Before hours are credited these workshops must be approved.

3. Fees
All fees are due and payable 14 days before the commencement of each unit.

4. Class Assignments
A total of six assignments from units taken in the Advanced Program must be completed. Three of these assignments including the Counselling assignment will be drawn from the core programs. An assignment for the Supervision group is also compulsory and this consists of summarizing the case you have presented. The remaining two may be drawn from other units in the program or other specialized programs or workshops. These assignments must be completed and submitted within three months of completing the unit on which the assignment is based. Word limit on assignments is 2,000 -2,500; however students may apply for an extension of the word limit.

5. Thesis
A written project on a research topic of your choice is 10,000 – 12,500 words. The thesis is a unit in itself and the topic you choose must be submitted in writing for approval. The first draft of this project is due within a year of completion of class attendance. This unit includes thesis supervision.

6. Assessment
Students are required to submit all assigned work to be eligible to receive the Diploma. All assignments will be graded either satisfactory or unsatisfactory. No extensions will be granted if more than 3 months elapses after the unit is completed.

7. Interviews
An assessment interview will be scheduled before the commencement of the program. A final interview with the diploma candidate will stress any areas which need more focus, the necessity of professional development and the adherence to a code of ethics. At this time the diploma candidate is also able to discuss any concerns or ask questions regarding future direction.
