We are fortunate to welcome Demetra George back to the Chiron Centre for an inspiring weekend exploring the dynamic relationship between traditional astrological doctrines and modern psychological approaches. In this weekend workshop Demetra will provide a model for the practicing astrologer and student to analyse the life purpose indicated by the natal chart. An essential part of this exploration will be demonstrating how to integrate classical mythological archetypes and ancient techniques with modern psychological interpretation.

Public Lecture - Celestial Imprints and Mythic Signatures
For our public presentation Demetra returns to her astrological roots to consider the mythic template underscoring celestial patterns. Planetary bodies that are prominent in the sky at birth inspire mythic narratives which highlight the archetypal features that shape our life experience. This public lecture explores how your astrological chart brings to light the mythic signatures of the gods and goddesses who reveal psyche’s eternal life and infuse it with myth and meaning.

Workshop - Integrating Traditional and Modern Methods in Chart Interpretation
Traditional criteria of planetary condition provide a clear assessment of how effectively each planet brings about the matters it represents in the natal chart. After explaining the fundamental principles of traditional methods in depth, we will explore how the modern astrologer can incorporate this information alongside an archetypal approach.

Uncovering Life Purpose in the Birth Chart
In The Soul’s Code, psychologist James Hillman writes that each person has a pattern that leads them toward a certain purpose and destiny, and that this pattern exists from the moment of birth. When a person recognises and lives out this purpose, it not only gives reason to one’s existence, but also enhances the well-being of others in the world. This seminar will present a clear and simple method specifically designed to uncover life purpose in the birth chart, pointing to how a person can best express the authentic self.
Demetra George, M.A. Classics, has been practicing astrology for more than 35 years, specializing in archetypal mythology and ancient techniques. She is the author of Astrology for Yourself, Asteroid Goddesses, Mysteries of the Dark Moon, Finding Our Way through the Dark, and Astrology and the Authentic Self. She lives in Oregon, lectures internationally, and leads pilgrimages to the sacred sites in the Mediterranean and India with Ancient Oracle Tours. Her contribution to the field of astrology through teaching, research and mentoring has been substantial. She offers personal astrological consultations and mentors individual students in all levels of astrological education.
