PERSONAL CONSULTATIONS
An astrological consultation helps an individual reflect and gain insight into personality patterns, motivation and direction, as well as the current events in their life. The horoscope is a multi-faceted representation of an individual’s experience. On one hand it can help articulate the template for the real self, and serve as a map of the life journey, while also symbolising an individual’s inner world. Astrology is most helpful during periods of transition and uncertainty, when greater forces seem to be in control of the individual’s destiny. Astrology addresses these larger questions and therefore helps to empower the individual with a sense of coherence and meaning.
Unique to astrology is the nature of one’s spiritual growth, destiny, and even fate. Astrology helps to focus on the larger issue of one’s place in the cosmos. There are many varying systems of astrology, which have different beliefs and biases. Astro*Synthesis focus is on a psychologically based astrology which is person-centered rather than horoscope-centered. With this approach the horoscope is not one-dimensional but an interactive exploration which is revelatory rather than descriptive. Therefore the process of an astrological consultation is an interactive dialogue between the astrological counselor and you. To receive maximum benefit an individual needs to be prepared to be open to interaction and exchange during the interview.
The first consultation is 90 minutes. The fee for this consultation is $125.00. Return visits (within one year) can either be 90 or 60 minutes with fees of $116.00 or $98.00 respectively. Astrological consultations are available at the Chiron Centre with either Brian Clark or Glennys Lawton.
Phone consultations are also available for individuals who live interstate or are unable to attend a consultation. Phone consultations can be as effective when the individual is prepared to explore and discuss their horoscope. In preparing each consultation both the natal and progressed horoscopes are utilized along with the current planetary cycles and phases. You may book a private consultation with either Brian Clark or Glennys Lawton.
BRIAN CLARK has been active in astrology since 1972, having received awards from The Fraternity for Canadian Astrologers (FCA) and The Federation of Australian Astrologers (FAA). He received his BA from Sir George Williams University (Montreal, Canada) and his Post Graduate Diploma in Classics and Archaeology from Melbourne University. He has taught astrology for the past 27 years and also lectures on myth in the Nexus program and conducts tours to sacred suites in Greece through Odyssey. He is the author of Celestial Tarot (US Games, Inc: 2007), The Sibling Constellation (Penguin: 1999), contributing author to Intimate Relationships (Llewellyn: 1991) as well as numerous articles and booklets on astrology. His articles have been translated into Spanish, French, German and Japanese.
GLENNYS LAWTON has been an integral figure in the development of humanistic astrology in Melbourne. As well as her astrological qualifications, Glennys is a registered family therapist, a clinical member of the Victorian Association of Family Therapists (VAFT) and accredited counsellor and educator with the National Association of Loss and Grief (NALAG-Vic). She has been involved in lecturing to astrological conferences in Australia, Europe, New Zealand and North America as well as presenting at family therapy conferences and workshops.
An astrological consultation can embrace all arenas of life experience. Some of the areas in which the astrological model provides insight are:
Astrology offers many tools to help understand the dynamics, patterns and compulsions within relationships. For each individual the horoscope potentially reveals insights on patterns and phases within relationships. For a couple the interactive comparison between two horoscopes can illustrate many of the dynamics of their relationship. Brian and Glennys offer relationship astrology, which involves three consultations; two individual sessions followed by the third, which involves the couple and both astrological consultants.
However in the context of a personal chart exploration the area of relationships remains as a strong focus.
While the horoscope is valuable in offering insight into potential, it is also helpful in eliciting images of the course of one’s life. A consultation is valuable to address the areas of life goals, choices, and changes in vocation, as well as career and work issues.
Astrological cycles define the course of life in a natural way. Therefore astrological images during periods of transition are powerful and potent signposts, which help to clarify the enormity of personal change. Life passages are etched out by larger astrological cycles and an astrological consultation is very helpful to delineate the landscape of the change and articulate the feelings embedded in the change. At the time of consultation the horoscope will have been prepared to take account of the current astrological trends and developments.
Symbols for the dynamics of all family relationships are embedded within each horoscope. Decoding these patterns offers invaluable insights into the impact of our familial relationships. Therefore consultations can be helpful to explore the parent-child dynamics, sibling relationships or familial and generational patterns within the family atmosphere.
The horoscope helps to address the predisposition of an individual through the inborn patterns and images of the horoscope. Amplifying and discussing these patterns promotes the awareness of areas where we can tap into our personal resources on varying levels. The areas of health and well being can illuminate personal resources which may be directed to a greater sense of vitality and well being in our lives.
